Review: “Best 7mm PRC Rifles for Hunting – Ultimate Guide (2024)”

In the later part of 2023 John McAdams listed his top rifles for the 7mm PRC cartridge and Bergara’s B14 Squared Crest made it on there. The article both mentions many of this rifle’s features. Below is some of his article.

“I’ve shot rifles and muzzleloaders with Bergara barrels for years. As much as I liked those firearms, they all weighed a little more than I preferred, especially on a backcountry hunt.

Fortunately, the folks at Bergara listened to customer feedback and have designed and manufactured a number of new rifle models that are significantly lighter than their older rifle models, yet still provide the same level of accuracy potential Bergara customers have grown accustomed to.

The new Bergara B-14² Crest (also known as the Bergara B-14 Squared Crest) is a prime example of what I mean.

The B-14 Squared Crest uses the same B-14 action as many of their other rifles (like the B-14 and B-14 Wilderness series of rifles), but also uses a carbon fiber stock, a fluted bolt, and a 4140 CrMo steel fluted barrel to cut down on weight.

Making those changes resulted in over two pounds of weight savings compared to some of their other rifles!”
