Our Small Batch Series is a way for us to bring finely tuned, hand-crafted firearms to niche markets. Limited to a batch size of 200, the second launch of the Small Batch Series kicks off with the M40-ish.

Bergara employs many military veterans who engineered sniper rifles during their time in service. The M40-ish puts our veteran engineers’ spin on the classic Marine Corps M40 rifle with Bergara’s modern advancements.

Like a fine whiskey, our Small Batch series is produced with an eye for detail. This military appreciation rifle is built for those who desire to have an upgraded piece of history.

Chambered in .308, the M40-ish is built on the rugged and adjustable McMillan A4 stock and features a 24” straight taper stainless steel barrel complete with a blended thread protector. Bergara’s Premier Action and TriggerTech trigger round out the package to ensure you hit your mark every time.

We combined the best veteran talent with superior components to achieve a premium firearm that speaks to a level of perfection only achieved in small batches.

Bergara Straight Taper, Heavy Contour Barrel

Custom barrel profile from Bergara Rifles set in a straight heavy taper to include a blended 5/8×24 thread protector. Giving the seamless appearance of the original non threaded rifle with the modernized option to direct thread a suppressor or muzzle device.

Bergara Premier Action

Two-lug system that features a separate floating bolt head to ensure contact with the lug abutments in the action. It also features a cone-shaped bolt nose for smooth feeding of the cartridge, and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor located in the front of the lower locking lug. The one-piece bolt body and tactical bolt handle are stainless steel and finished with Cerakote black.

McMillian A4 Stock

The McMillian A4 is a tactical rifle stock originally designed for the USMC. The vertical pistol grip and butt hook allow for better control. The stock comes fully adjustable with a spacer system for length of pull as well as an adjustable cheek piece.

Badger M5 Bottom Metal

The Badger M5 Bottom Metal is the same as that used on the original M40 and comes with an AICS style 5 rd detachable box magazine.

Explorer Hard Case

The M40-ish comes with a 50” hard case from Explorer stenciled with model and individually numbered for exclusivity.

Small Batch Challenge Coin

Every Small Batch weapon is special, and so are its owners. Each run comes with a Small Batch Challenge Coin. The coin is custom-made from Bergara barrel drops (the portion of the barrel that is removed prior to being turned down to the final contour) and designates the batch number. Collect one, or collect them all, and enjoy the club.
