Bergara is aware that ammunition manufacturers periodically introduce new cartridges and case
technologies designed to operate at chamber pressures exceeding the standards established by the Sporting
Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI) for a given caliber (e.g. Federal Premium 6.5
Creedmoor +Peak cartridge). Because these cartridge pressures haven’t been evaluated under SAAMI’s
standard development process, ammunition operating outside SAAMI pressure standards for its caliber
should not be used in any Bergara rifle unless Bergara formally confirms compatibility for that model.

1. What is Federal 6.5 Creedmoor +Peak ammunition?
a. It is a new cartridge from Federal Premium that uses their Peak Alloy case technology to
operate at chamber pressures of approximately 80,000 psi — significantly higher than the
Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI) standard 6.5 Creedmoor

2. Can I use 6.5 Creedmoor +Peak ammunition in my rifle?
a. No. This ammunition is NOT approved for use in any Bergara rifle chambered in 6.5
Creedmoor.

3. Why isn’t this ammunition approved?
a. These cartridge pressures haven’t been evaluated under SAAMI’s standard development
process, ammunition operating outside SAAMI pressure standards for its caliber should not
be used in any rifle unless Bergara formally confirms compatibility for that model.

4. Is SAAMI involved in evaluating this ammunition?
