The Bergara Barrelled Action
In 2023 Bergara launched its new line of Shooting Barrelled Actions in a variety of calibres and I immediately knew I wanted one! As any competition shooter will tell you, achieving natural point of aim through the correct balance of your precision rifle, in a configuration built around your personal and exacting requirements, is one of the keys to success, and the new Bergara Barrelled Actions are designed with that aim in mind.
The new Bergara Shooting Barrelled Actions
There are four calibres available: .22lr, 6.0mm and 6.5mm Creedmoor and .308 Win. Each utilises the match proven B14 action with Bergara Performance Trigger, mated with a No.7 (MTU) profile stainless-steel barrel. For the centrefire Shooting Barrelled Actions, each calibre has a 26” (66cm) barrel that is threaded 5/8-24 UNEF with an overall weight of 7.9lbs (3.6kg). For the Rimfire version in .22lr we have a 20” (51cm) barrel threaded 1/2-28 UNEF with an overall weight of 7.5lbs (3.4kg). Each rifle is supplied with a detachable 10 round AICS style magazine. The Rimfire version is also available in a left handed model.

The advantages of a Bergara Barrelled Action
The B14 action used as the basis for the new Shooting Barrelled Actions has a Remington 700 footprint. Providing unparalleled aftermarket options, a Rem700 footprint is the most desirable design for a barrelled action. With a Bergara Shooting Barrelled Action the competition shooter has the maximum opportunity to build their dream match rifle, at a considerably lower price than a full custom build, and with a No.7 heavy profile barrel they have a starting point that requires less input to achieve a well-balanced rifle for shooting off barricades and other props, as typically found in Precision Rifle matches.

The heavy barrel used for the Shooting Barrelled Actions were specially selected to ensure consistency and accuracy is maintained in the toughest of conditions and when firing many rounds rapidly. You can have confidence that your bullets will land where you aim them, shot after shot after shot… and with stainless steel you have the inherent advantage of corrosion resistance.
