Ben grew up hunting, fishing and shooting in a small town in Kentucky. He spent the of his jr high and high school years shooting air rifles, small bore rifles and archery. After graduating high school he continued his archery career at a semi pro level and compete across the country. Ben has been shooting compatible long range rifle both Rimfire and centerfire since 2019. Ben is also the match director for Kentucky Precision Rimfire.

What led you to competitive shooting?

I started out shooting competitively through 4h shooting BB guns. That lead to shooting archery through 4-h. I eventually started competing in national level archery tournaments and NCAA 3 position 22 rifles and standing air rifles. I now compete in various PRS and NRL 22 Rimfire and centerfire matches all around the country.

What are your favorite calibers to compete with?

22lr. 6mm creedmoor

What is your go to Bergara model for matches?

B14r/ridgeback/comp rifle

What is the number one piece of advice you would share with a new shooter?

Don’t worry about the timer, have fun and ask lots of questions. Just about anyone at these matches would be willing to give you some pointers or lend you gear and show you the most effective way to use that gear.

What two pieces of gear, other than your rifle, are most important at matches?

Good data calculator and the Wiebad tater tot

What is your favorite part about representing Bergara?

I love being part of a team that not only makes the best products but a company that supports the shooters and sportsman alike.

Any other sponsors?

Athlon optics, A&J sporting goods, Impact Data Books, Wiebad shooting gear
